Why don't you just buy a set of shocks that are made for the 450r? Then there will be no guess work.

im sure they would fit but i think the stock 450r ones are just as good as used 400ex shocks:rolleyes:

Yes the 250R shocks are the same. I put my friends pep long travel on my 450R with a Laeger long travel front end and the fit very nice. As far as standard size shocks they will probably work. The A-arms are much wider on the 450r than the 250r, so no the a-arms will not work.

okay, i was told that it was 1/2" shorter than the 400ex shock is, but it would bolt on. i think i'll just buy a 450r shock

Has anyone put their aftermarket 400EX shocks on their 450R yet? I have PEP fronts that I kept after selling my 400 and would love to know the answer to this, before I sell them. They are valved for +2 so they would be stiffer, but from what I've read the 450 arms are wider so maybe not much of a difference? Inquiring minds want to know :)

Just got off the phone with Baldwins. They said my 400 front zps will work as long as I have them revalved (and I believe slightly lengthened). I'm sending them off and should have them back with a new rear in 2 months. Just in time to pick up my new 450R. I guess this is as good a reason as any to get the honda. :D

I beleave that the swing arm will work. Because my friend was measuring everything from my 450r and comparing to his race bike (400ex) he is trying to get a 450r and have it ready for the nationals in a couple of weeks. Here is what we found the upper a-arms will work the lower will not, front shocks will work he has elka. The front bumper will interchange, and the way everything measured out that the swing arm and rear shock will interchange.

He's gonna call me when he gets the shocks with a definite price. I also ordered a rear to match which will be at least two months so I told him not to rush on the fronts. I don't even have the bike yet.

Call them up if you have any questions. They were very helpful and have tons of other stuff out for the 450. Plus they sponsor Farr so you know they've been working on the bike.
