I have always had a passing interest in opening up a motorcycle/atv/pwc dealership. I have been looking for a phone number of someone to contact at Honda to explore this possibility and get some general information on what it would require, (ie investment, contractual obligations and general finances, franchise fees ect...) but have been unable to find the appropriate contact person to get information from.

Does anyone know who would be the contact person at Honda to find out this type of information??? HCA has no information that I can find...

Peace

The hardest thing will be finding an area that isn't already serviced, & proving to the company that the area you want to open in will support the franchise.

That & having a couple hundred thou laying around.

If you can swing that, finding someone at Honda to talk to will be the least of your worries.

Yep, he's right... I'd say "location" and "money" are the first two problems to make sure you have worked out.

Yep, not sure if its that much, but I DO know it takes ALOT of start up capital. The one dealer around here that started up in the mid 80's had MUCHO bucks invested into starting the dealership up (according to a friend of the owner).

Good luck either way and keep us updated!

If your really looking to do this, I think it'd be awesome. You could probably find a decent loaction in the Gainesville/Nokesville area. I think it would do well.

If you can get backing from the SBA, it sure helps financing your start-up.

A million of overhead is what i heard. I work for a kawasaki and yamaha dealer and i guess honda is the most expensive/hardest to get on out of the 4.

i have always wanted to start a used all terrain vehicle little shop.. I had it all planned out, find the awesome deals, like a 2002 400ex going for 2600, get it sell it for 3400, and find tons of deals like that, my honda shop sells 01 400exs for 3750, so im pretty sure i could get rid of a 2002 like nothing.. It would be fun, but at first im sure it would be a whole lot of headaches..
