450r Top Speed So Far!

I had my 450r out on the lake today. had 10 in of ice. and about 4-5 in of packed snow. had a sled pace me and i was 60mph with the front tires n the gorund firmly. put on some paddle tires and i floated the front end all across the lake. don't know the speed with paddle tires, sled left, but 60 with stock tires. 60 is kinda dissapointing, I ride on the ice too, My 1986 ATC350x does 64.7 according to my GPS. My 81 CR450r goes 80. Granted top speed really doesn't matter, but I certaintly hope the 450R is faster than my 350X. For traction, I run pro gold ice racing screws in both bikes, I cant wait till my 450r gets here so I can strap the gps onto it.

Where you getting your 450r from?

your top speed sould be at or around 72 my yfz was clocked at right around there and the 450r has the same top speed as a yfz give or take a few

remember it has a 5 speed tranny so it doesn't have as many gears as the 350X did. Top speed won't be great on it and it didn't feel all that fast on mine but that wasn't what the bike was made for anyway.

I wouldnt trust that snowmobile speedo, get a GPS! Sled speedo's are notorious for putting up bigger numbers than are real.

Wait till you get her on hard ground, I'd say about 70+- a couple!

:o Yeah i had a 350x too! i would also agree that they do have one more gear. another thing to keep in mind is an a quad you are pushing 2 front wheels and suspension through the snow. on a 350x hmmm not much. :huh don't know if the sled speedo was correct it wasn't a newer one. but hey it is all in how much traction you get neeeed dry land here.. any one get a speed on dry land let us know! thanks guys!! :D

i got clocked at 70mph with my set up and if u go 70 on dirt u feel like maybe going 108mph,but for the top speed to be 108 thats not practical. i say bullsh$t

My buddy was clocked at 85 on a 04 HRC 450r by a police radar gun when he decided to run from them. I also have a nother friend that was clocked at 115 on a bashee with a big bore and porting and every thing else you can think of.

He was on snow. It has very little traction. I can bet the the tires were spinnig. Now if he was on bare ice he would be closer to 75ish

How do you like the 02 cam in your machine?
I have an 06 with the 06 hrc and it seems to pull like a rapped ape. Will the 02 cam give even more?

Last winter I was able to hit 74MPH on bare ice with stock tires and gearing. This was with my Garmin 12 GPS.

I love the cam. I'm pretty sure the '06 HRC is an '05 CRF which is suppose to be a little better than the '02. I'll swap you if you want!:D

You may think that 108 mph is a ficticious statment. Your opinion! However the fastest of my 5 balls to the wall rippin it hard as hell runs was 108 on a flat country road with dirt tract tires. No knobs!
I don't know what elevation all of these posts are at but I'm at 800 feet above sea level. I can back this up one step further with video footage from my helmet cam and cam mounted so you can see the results of the 5 passes by the radar gun. So you guys who are doing just 60 or 70 need to sell your 450R you don't deserve it!!!!

The 450 with stock gearing wih hit the stock rev limiter at 78mph.

i was clocked by my local sherrif when I got pulled over at 75 in a 55. he didnt think a fourwheeler could go that fast :devil: $100 later

75 is about it for a "normally modified" quad. If your going faster, you have more than normal motor mods. You also have gearing changes.

This thread sucks. 108? Are you serious. Theres not much you can do to prove that on here. What good is a video going to do? I seriously doubt you have as many mods as turbo-530R does. He probably has one of the fastest 450's in a straight line, on this site.
