looking to buy a cheap manual tire changing machine. Do those manual ones work O.K.? I see that they are typically hard to get the tires off the rims with a good machine at a tire shop. Therefore, I was wondering if the 100.00 dollar manual ones on E-Bay work good enough. Thanks!

I have heard many times that Harbor Freight sells one that works like a charm for $39.

Jeff - your floor stand one is from James Lucky? Or you have one of the hand held James Lucky ones for in the trailer? I've been meaning to ask you about the floor stand one...

Its the one that sits on the floor but its small enough to put in the trailer too.

I have the one from Harbor Freight. It works very well, but all I use it for is to break the beads. Once they are broken normal tire irons work just fine. It does need to be mounted to something, or it tries to tip over.

No, that is not the one I have. That one is smaller. The one I have is this one. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=34542

Like I said all I use it for is too break the bead, after that you can use tire irons. I do not see why the smaller one would not work. It looks like it would do the job.

Ive got the smaller one from harbor freight, works great, and I dont even have it bolted to the floor yet. Ive broken the bead on atv tires, lawn mower tires, and even a 15 inch truck tire.:D
