are you getting back into racing?

You told me you were building a mini chopper and that is why you were selling your 250r?

I see you have a 406:devil:

no no no, I'm building a mini chopper for the hell of it. I'm selling he R because i wanted to get on a 4stroke. I'll be at the races this year, but I'm just going to be out racing for the heck of it, nothing serious

the only real question i have, is does the rear of the 426/450 bolt right into the swingarm pivot of the 400ex? or what kind of mods are needed. thanks

its def a stock frame conversion... i can tell by right under the shifter side of the motor where the diagonal bar connects to the frame... its got the flat spot that only the stock honda frames have...

i see what your sayin. Its gotta be an aftermarket subframe because it has a removable grab bar

Not always, you can mod the stock 400ex subframe to fit an 88-89 250r grab bar I believe.

yeah thats true, i've seen it done a few times.

chances are high the ownder cut the old one off and made mounts for the R grab bar seeing as how he was crafty enough to put a 450 in the stock frame (assuming he did it)

I too have a conversion question. I want to use my 250r parts and build a 450. I plan on buying an aftermarket frame and motor and using my 250r a-arms, shocks, steering stem, gas tank, swing arm, and axle, and my accessaries.

Can I run the stock 250r radiator or do I need to buy an oversized one? Will a stock length '88 250r swingarm work or does it need to be longer? This is going to be set up for mx racing.

Can a 2002-2003 CRF 450 be made to run as good as a 2004 CRF 450? What all tranny mods need to be done? What about pipe mods, carb size, airbox, and carb boot mods?

Any info or opinions are appreciated.

You will be able to do that. I knwo you can do it on a lsr frame i belive, i have seen a guy using a 250r lsr chassis and put a crf450 motor in it.

Im not sure ont he motor, but i dont see hwo it would be different?

i don't think there is much of a difference in the years. but then again ihaven't followed that closely. Your best bet is to go to a honda shop and talk to them about it.

Yes your 250r rad will work, i know of many poeple who have used it

with the help of 416mx I think it should be in the FAQ section. many people like me are going to do the 450 conversion soon.
