I went with some people to a local track and one of em had a stock z400, I hopped on that thing and it stood straight up, I was like, holy shiz! the front end is light as crap on that thing. it feels like it has the exact same amount of power as my 440ex. I wouldn't never want one because when I sit on it it feels like im on a mountain and it would throw me off easy with the stock handlebars, its got some power though.

i rode my cuzins kfx400 and that thing was really really front end LIGHT. all it seemed to do was throw you up, i like to wheelie when i want to wheelie. not when i give it gas it just bucks you up.

i forgot to add, yes they do have quite a bit of power, but they dont compare to a 440ex, not one thats done right...

you have something wrong with your 440 if a stock z400 is as fast as you

well a few things come into play, I weigh 210 and he's a little twig thing. My jetting is still off, it bogs and I can't get full speed on the thing. but a z400 is still a beast stock, i was comming around a burn going downhill and I pinned the gas, had to hit the brake to get it off the back bar :huh I didn't expect the throttle to hit that hard

I have ridden a few real fast 406's, 416's and one very fast 440. The 440 that I rode was ported/polished, fcr carb, sparks x-6 exhaust, cam, 11:1 je piston, had the stock swingarm and it wheelied instantly, was faster than my 250r. Rode it with a 1 1/4 over swingarm and it was much better, still a ridiculas wheelie machine. That guy who I knew that builds the 440's only does them with carimilla rods, hinson cluth basket and checking every gear and such in the bottom end. He says you can do it right the first time or have problem downthe road and end up reding it later for greater cost. I would agree, You probably just have a 440 , cam and pipe. porting makes a huge difference. I'm used to a real light front end(I ride a hopped up atc250r) after a few times of riding it you'll get used to it, and won't turn back, it helps alot in whoops.

I just rode my friends z400, im sticking to my 440 until I can afford a YFZ. does the YFZ have the same light feel on the front end? I can imagine it does with all the power it has. I need to get my 440 tuned though, I can't seem to get the jetting right my self. im running two sizes above stock on the main and when I hit 5th gear it will barely scoot along it bogs so bad, and I foul plugs about ever hour of riding.:(

Find a local shop with a dyno and they can get it perfect. That 440 should smoke a stock Z

My 416 smoked a Z400 by 6-7 Quad 's , I'm still trying to get it dialed in.Your 440 should spank a Z400 easily
