trade my bike?

I have a farly stock 300ex, I went riding yesterday and a guy came out to the local sand pits with a modded 300ex. He is giving it to his 10 year old son. He wants to make it stock before he gives it to him. It has a 385 kit, modded air box with k&n filter, White Bro. e-series full exhaust, +2 swing arm, 400ex arms and shocks, +2 axle, black mair race cut fenders, Yellow pc'd frame, moose handlebars, and hole shots on all fours. He wants to trade me straight up. It was keeping up with (not beating) a stock yzf450. My question is how reliable do you think the 385 kit is? Do you think I should trade?

you could also be buying a money pit as well.... make sure you look the entire bike over. Check the oil, ask for reciepts of work done, also do a cold start with the bike..see if it smokes alot. Also, from what I heard, a 400EX front end is not a good to put on a 300EX. Does not handle well...

i would do it in a heartbeat,but that is true to check everything before you actually accept it because if you got a problem that guy may not want to here about it and he could just say that you caused it yourself
