Anyone ever use wheel spacers? Are they any good? If so, do you have to do the front and back to get the bike to track right?

Peace

Had them on the old 300. Changed wheels and took them off. If you put them on the front you will notice a lot more steer bump. I see you have a 400ex so you get some air time. Don't think I'd use them on it. Do alittle search in the forums and you could get some better ideas. Like my sig says, I ride slow. Hope I helped:)

I have the +3" (total, 1.5" on each side) on the front of my 440 and they work fine. I didn't notice any odd steering characteristics and they are a good, cheap alternative to wider A-Arms for trail/recreational riders. As long as you aren't like 400 lbs and flat landing from 20 feet up they should be fine and durable.

i have some on the back of my 250x and i love them but i put my freinds on the front before i got mine and it caused alot of bumster. i was hitten some good sized jumps with them on last time i went to the track and they held up fine

i had them on the recon. they were the 2.5" ones. i jumped that thing pretty high with them on and had no problems.

I run them in the front. I have been racing and have had no problems.

I got a pair of wheel spacers but i dont have longer hub bolts to put them on, are the like hub bolts with the studs or just normal bolts.

I ran the +3" (1 1/2" on each side.) for about a year. I had no problems. Did not jump real big though. I took them off once i bought a arms and an axle. It is a inexpensive way to widen it a little as long as your not jumping big. You will notice some more bump steer with them. A steering stablizer seems to help that out. Mine were very strong chromoly steel that screwed onto the existing studs. I am not impressed with the plastic spacers.
I weigh 195 lbs. and had no problems.

Here's the ones I have there the +3" kit :

I had rear wheel spacers....... They lasted about a year, then cracked. I wasn't hitting any huge jumps, just messing around and riding hard. They just couldn't take the abuse I was giving it.

And I think the cold weather had something to do with it, too :o .

never put spacers on the front. or offset wheels. it puts too much load on the bj's, bearingd etc... it changes the scrubb radius of the front end, increasing bump steer and creates arm pump. only run inset wheels like a 4on 1 wheel. if you want the front end wider you need to step up and get a arms.

yes..i have my rims with the offset & my stock tierods bend easier thhen before...this extra leverage with these things do not help your handling in any way & only are good for looks. This is what I have come up with & believe...heres my offset rims http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid102/pf6cee04a84e833fc23f96d92e088f858/f9c9d0c4.jpg

I would go with offset rims or wider a-arms. I tried spacers on my bike and I hated them.
