Alright well i just got new tires and rims and now im lookin in to an exhaust so im wondering which one is better for a stock 2002 motor? The White bros E or R series, Yoshimuara?, or the HMF ones (i just like the way they look)

does anyone have any opinions on the HMF, my friend has a Yosh. one and i love the way it sounds really deep and throaty but ive never seen or heard an HMF one.

HMF sounds sweet. Very loud though. Yosh has a nice sound as well but I prefer the HMF. Best bang for the buck. At only $209.00 its well worth it.

alright, well i dont think slip-ons are hard to change out are they because there might be some places where i ride that i may have to keep quiet around so id have to put the stocker back on sometimes. And about the HMF ones, what color should i get? i have the yellow 400ex so i dont want the yellow exhaust, so maybe black chrome, or polished?

I just got the Aluminium one and I think it looks the best. The only good thing about having it Powder Coated is it will clean up easier when it comes time to wash it. As far as swapping out the stock S/O with the HMF, you have to take into consideration that your main jet is a 148 stock from the factory. HMF S/O requires a jetting change. They will send you a 165 Main if your bike is stock. It wont run good at all if you put your stock S/o back on the bike. And its not just HMF that requires jetting changes, You'll find that almost every pipe does.

I used to have a yosh on my old z and I loved it. Had a nice tone to it but at first it whistled? It went away eventually, either way yu wont be dissapointed with a yosh or a hmf

If you are concerned about sound levels, HMF offers quiet cores for their pipes, and Yoshimura has a TEC kit. The TEC kit has 2 different inserts for different levels of sound output.

My vote would go towards the Yosh. I had one. Gains were great with proper jetting, and it wasn't overly loud at all. Yoshimura puts out high quality pipes.

i agree 100%! I have had mine for almost a year now, and still runs great! Still looks new, and for the price of their exaust's you can't beat it. Everyone i know has had problems with their exausts, including LRD, pro circuit, fmf, white brothers. I have never had to repack it, or do anything! And with the stock yellow plastic, the black looks fantastic!:D

I just got back from my first dune trip after installing the HMF and a filter, and all I can say is..."it's the best $209 you could spend on your quad". The slip on really woke the bike up, the sound is great, and the fit and finish on the pipe was very good. If you're concerned about the noise level, you could run the optional quiet core. I don't have first hand experience with them, but supposedly they kill the sound and don't hurt the performance too much.

Swapping back and fourth between the stock silencer and any aftermarket slip on would be a headache because you'll have to jet back down to the stock exhaust jetting.

LRD for sure but cost more $$$ than some other's. I have the full system and it made a huge difference compared to a slip-on. I used to have a stock motor but now I have a 416 which makes the exhaust work even better. I would still save up and invest in a full system. Some people say the stock header is fine but I think the LRD header made a noticeable difference in power. I don't know much about the HMF, but in my opinion I would stick with an engine builder such as Sparks or LRD.:)

I have to WB R-series S-bend slip-on. It gives you an amazing increase in torque and bottome end. Loud, but sounds nice.

I went with the brushed aluminum finish because I wasn't sure about the durability of their powdercoating so I figured I'd stay with something clean and then just powder coat it later if I wanted to. (I do PC work on the side, so it wasn't a big deal to PC it later if I wanted to.)

Hi erichsen18.

Check out the site below, they had a shoot out on all the systems. I settled for the Pro Circuit T4. it’s throaty and has great reaction on the throttle. Took me five minutes to fit, and it seals well. Big torque difference and easy on the pocket.

if your going with slip on, i personally think that a t4 or the e-series are the best, but with full, i would say go with hmf, or curtis sparts

I don't know about the t4 slip on but I know my HMF slip-on seems to do better than the e-series I've had experience with... I know at least one person who ditched their WB for HMF and never looked back...

well i don't know about the hmf slip on, i only have bought the full system. The t4 and the e-series, is the only slip on's i have had, but i know the hmf is better for full, i have one, if i didn't like it i would have something different. i am not saying you are wrong, i don't know for sure.personally i think it is all prefference to sound basically, cause every piped quad i have ridden feels about the same power:confused:
