hey...my friend just got a 400ex with ohlins front shocks with piggyback rezzies and he told me brand new they cost 1400 bucks or something like that. I know they are good shocks and they are like brand new nothing wrong with them, no paint is flaking or anything. He will give them to me for 300 bucks plus my stock fronts. Is this a deal or no? should i do it? later guys. please respond

thats awsome, front 400 shocks look like lt 80 shocks compared to ohlins, ride his bike to see if u like em, then trade. if u dont like em, tell him il trade him my fronts and watever else u said.

thomas...i know what you mean man..but i dont want to waste my money on something that i dont really need..yeah it would be nice to feel like you got air ride suspension but..its a comfort mod instead of performance which i need. idk..im still debating.im trying to get a hold of the kid now. later

actually if you do the motorcross and tough stuff than the shocks could actually make you the fastest rider so that you can float over the ruff stuff, land softer, better ride, ability to run more preload in shock. All that stuff will make you quicker and you will probably end up buying the 1000 dollar shocks down the road if you don't get those. Plus if is all you wanted is motor instead of handling you should of got a banshee or a ds650 or raptor. I say do some minor mods first like filter, modify header and silencer, jet it properly and then get shocks then focus on the motor again and bore it to 416 and get a high compression piston and a cam and even more stuff if you want. But just because your quad is the fastest doesn't really mean that its the quickest.

They are great shocks, I run them front and rear. As for $1400.00 bucks...that is way off...they retail for $759.00 a pair.

oldnumberseven- your right..they are very nice shocks and i love them already..best mod ever. as for the $759.00 for the fronts....my local dealer sells them at book price for 1400 and he will give all three of them to me to 2,000. thats a steal..but anywho....im glad i got suspension and not a pipe..i love them. how do you adjust the softness and firmness? is it the little screw on top of the rezzies? i didnt get a manual or anything with these things so please help me out. and how should i got about cleaning them? thanks alot guys. later:devil

Chris....i need help. i cant figure out how to adjust the rebound or dampening or cant you do that with these shocks? they say on them not to try to adjust anything without reading the manual first but i dont have a manual to go with it so im lost...i tried the little allen head screw on top of the rezzie and oil came out so i closed it right away knowing that that wasnt it. :devil But the oil was really clear which is good right? Cuase i dont know how much wear and tear have been on these shocks truthfully. anyone that can help please respond. thanks alot guys. later...Andrew:cool:

There are two types of Front Ohlins available for the 400ex, one os adjustable the other is not. Sounds to me that yours are not. If they were the would have a knob for adjustment. DO NOT OPEN THAT ALLEN SCREW, the shocks are pressurrized.
