O.K. guy's let's here it...pros and cons...is it ok to run a full synthetic oil or not?
I have heard that it is not good for the clutch, others disagree, so which is it??

the new stuff for this century is fine for your clutch...i run mobile 1 (red cap) 20w-50 & so does almost everyone on this site...i have 35 hours on this stuff right now since I last changed it & it still looks new & my clutch is fine ;)

i run synthetic 10w-40 in the summer time, and maybe its just me, but i think my 400 shifts smoother, its well worth the money, and it'll save you in the long run on engine wear

synthetic is the only way to go. 3 years with mobil 1 and its fine.

Overall, synthetic is going to give you better performance; it's been proven over and over. There's still folks that insist on using Petro's and that's cool too. If you want to increase the life of your bike, two or four stroke, go with a high-quality synthetic and you will be better off for it.

Amsoil is the way to go. Was thinking about going to Mobil 1 but I am sticking to the Amsoil 20w-50 fully synthetic.

Is there a reason you choose to use the 20w-50 ? Is your bike spec'd to run on something other than 10w-40 or something close to that ?
