darn 440 wont idle for crap

I have 2 stock carbs to work with (used) and one will let it not idle for crap but is strong as h@ll up top. The other one will idle fine but is sluggish when I hit the gas. I have a jet kit from motoman so I can play with the jets if needed. Can I have some help please!?

well, your main jet and pilot jet may need to be redone, also, maybe you need to move your needle up or down, determine by the spark plug if it is running lean or rich by the color, and make sure you got a clean air way, air filter and stuff, but jets and maybe change your needle position
