only 20 per dealer?

i went to southside honda today and they guy said all dealers are allowed only 20 of these for the year...

if so that totally sucks because they cant even keep one here.... the waiting list is full

Nope not true over here. My dealer is getting 75, they wanted 200:eek:

some dealers are only gettin one or two, we are gettin 30 by april here. honda went off of last years 400ex sales to determine how many each dealer would get

The dealer I got mine at (fairly large dealer) said they can only get 7 of them for the year. They still haven't received the second one...but I did hear the same thing, that its based on 400EX sales.

i had a major beef with mass dealers when the YFZ came out.

I spoke to Sommerville Yamaha in sept. 03 and asked how many he sold.... (they had been out for a month then)

he said they werent coming out till december (by then they had already been winning races!)

It is probly just be a BS sales ploy trying to get you to buy one quicker. As long as people buy them they will keep pumping them out.

I agree - I've read stories of dealers doing the exact same thing back in 99 with the 400ex's. Telling people they couldn't come of the list price at all because they only get so many for the year so they needed to get full price for them. Blah, blah, blah...

I was told 20 by my dealer. I'm picking mine up this morning so I don't think it was a sales tactic.

im just hoping when im ready to buy this year that i will be able to get a hold of one... or they could atlease order one for me

You shouldn't have any problems finding one. Its not like how it was when the 400ex came out and it was the first new sport quad in 10 years or so.

And if the dealer you go to doesnt have one the next one will.
