My brother put 400ex a-arms and shocks on his 250x. But it wasn't that good. It was very stiff. So he called works shocks and they got him a pair and it rode great...I would call works..

He paid $340 for the shocks I think. The ride height was higher than stock but it worked real good.

you can put the shocks & a-arms on but i would suggest a kit to raise the top shock mount. This will kepp the ride height similar to stock and allow the shocks to work properly without a harsh ride

I have Works shocks the correct length(14.75") and 87 250r a arms(Adjustable camber). No shockmount needed. Let me know if you're interested.

The best way to do it is using 400ex stock length shocks with 300ex aftermarket or stock a arms and a shock mount bracket. Try a search. There's a lot of good info on this.

i wouldnt do it, just buy +2 arms made for a 300ex...i hear the bumpsteer is wicked bad on that conversion!

copied from search"The 300ex's stem bushing is farther forward in the frame, that is were you pick up the extra bumpsteer. The tie-rods angle back which makes for poop handling. I've never rode one but I'll take bradleys and Jeff's advice it doesn't look too good. Cheaper than buying a complete new front end if your on a budget but you might wanna get a stabilizer to help out the bumpsteer.."
