I was thinking of a solid brake rotor for Hare Scramble racing. Any recommendations of name brands and where to get one?

Braking...they are awsome

braking also makes a wave rotor that is sweet.

WOW!!!! that is sweet but does it matter what quad it goes on it seems like all the good stuff is for the 400 now days but how much is it for the rear of a 2k2 300

that wouldn't be good for hare scrambles. i read in dirtbike they're easy to bend. i would go with braking or ebc if they make one.

are they? i just thought they looked cool...and i remember that travis spader had them on his Duncan/roll 250r, and the VOR quad had it too, and i thought it looked cool.

That does look really cool. I had a rotor on my dirt bike like that. It was one of those floating rotors. wonder if they will ever come up with that for quads(floating rotor)?

Get a ebc rotor. 89 bucks from RMATV.

Thanks guys for your help. I ended up getting a solid brake rotor rather than ones with holes in it. I really like the looks of the Braking "wave" rotor, but I agree with LRD Trx416ex that it would probably bend easier. I also like the looks of the Rad stainless steel brake rotor they advertise in Dirt Wheels, I think they call it "Secret Weapon".

I ended up going through Marcums.... Mrusk, thankyou, but I went through Rocky Mountain ATV catalog and they only showed they had the EBC rotors with the holes in it.

Note: Marcums said they can get just about anything..... just ask!

I doubt this thing will ever bend....look at the comparison to the pen. They are also designed to "self clean" for all the mud and sand, etc.

Come to Pennsylvania to ride and you'll get a good look at it from the rear :D (couldn't resist!)

steve

why is the rotor just sitting there with the pen and not installed on your bike. LOL

WHo's is it and about how much?

Looks like it would work pretty well in most conditions.

EXtreme- Where did you get that rotor? I need one for my 400. How much did it cost? Something happens to my rear rotor it keeps getting bent and not from hitting anything, its just like the caliper is bending it to one side.

the "wave" rotor is made by Braking USA. check out brakingusa.com for more info. they have all different kinds of applications, so call em for pricing and availability...etc. They are a bit pricey, but why not get something good the first time and be done with it. I don't have the exact details of what I paid....got the whole entire set and their cm44 pads. Got sick of replacing pads every month.....or less! A good racer is either excellerating hard or braking hard....never coasting!

Ummmmmm....Last time I remebered my 400ex had Floating rotors.

Also LRD TRX416ex, or McGrath sucks(whatever your anmes is,and if you really have a quad)

Last time I checked the rear rotor had a skid plat to protect it,and if your runnin XC without a skid, your a Idiot. Also I have raced XC a few time and ride very hard, and never bent a rotor,I even tried bending mine with a rubnber mallet and it's very hard

Honda's EX and R line of ATV's feature floating calipers, NOT rotors.

Well it looks like I will be picking one of these rotors up, my stock rotor keeps warping. So you BOUGHT the rotor straight from braking?? Or is there a dealer that I can buy it from?

I have a braking rear rotor, its not the wave....but it has a ton of holes in it!!!

You can sorta see it in this pic..
