I an currently getting back into riding and my friend bought a 01' 300ex and I did some diging and found out that his carb was bigger that the ones back in 94'. I don't remember the size but I believe it was 2-3mm bigger. IS there any thing I can do to keep up with this smaller carb, or shoud I look at getting a new one? I had a super trapp and bigger head pipe, but took it off because is was to loud and sounded like crap. Any help would be great. BTW nice board.

I think the switch was made in 00, try finding a newer carb or even a 400ex carb. I don't think you are losing that much on him with a slightly smaller carb. You can always get a different pipe and open up the airbox.

Well, I keep the airbox lid off and I am running a UNI filter. I rejetted the carb many moons ago and don't remember what size main jet I put in. My main concern was should I find a new carb, and would it make that much difference?
