This coming from a guy who doesn't have enough strength to pull in a clutch lever........

sounds like you need to do some adjusting to the clutch on the case

ill tell you your problem...my 400ex does this some times....no biggie...its not the clutch tho....put it down in 1st gear...rev up the motor, and then with the clutch in shift up to nutril.....works every time....my friends raptor is like that, and my other friends 440ex is like that....u get it down in 1st gear, with the clutch in rev it up and it goes right in nutril

on my 400ex i have that problem sometimes. I put it in 1st and let out the clutch a little so it engages slightly and then its easier to put in. I know it sounds weird but it works for me.

my 300ex does the same thing, I always thought it was normal. It does get kinda annoying tho

If your clutch is tight it will drag slightly and won't go into neutral very easily. It could also just be a matter of everything lineing up in the tranny so rocking it back and forth will sometimes help or just slightly let the clutch out so that it will start to turn the tranny just a little will sometimes also help.

I think no matter how free your clutch is when you have the lever in, there is still some pull on the gears with the engine running. The tension on the gears will probably make neutral hard to find sometimes. The same thing can be simulated with the engine off by putting some tension on the front sprocket (like on a slight incline). I wouldn't worry unless the gears are excessively notchy or if it jumps in or out of neutral. What oil are you running? You might try a different brand or weight of oil.
