I would say go for it, an inexpensive mod for a more crisp throttle response ;)

depending on the age of the gasket you might get away without it. whan i put mine in, my quad was about 3 months old, so i re-used the gasket, never leaked a drop

I think mine was around $27 with shipping to Michigan. Its the best bang for the buck mod I think. Mine is an '02, and I got away without needing the gasket. Just be sure if you let a shop do any of your work, (adjusting valves, or aything to do with timing), that its in there. Mine has said they have run in to a few the hard way, by the person not letting it know they had one installed. They had also said they have seen a few sheer off in higher modded motors. Dont know if it was because of a higher output of power or what. Just figured I'd let you know what I have heard, but my experience with it has been great.

I thought rana little better when the motor was stock. after I put in the 426 kit I tried it both ways and noticed no difference either way

I noticed snappier throttle respose when I installed the key.

I also reused my gasket even though the gasket tore in a few places, it hasn't leaked at all.
