I bought some used elkas today and i was wondering if i should have them revalved. They are set up for 175lbs rider on +2's. I weight about 165 with gear on +1's. These are the first aftermarket shocks i have had so what do you guys think. I've read a bunch of post that say the only thing that matters with shocks are how they are set up, so i want them to be right.

yes,.,they prob. need new fluid in them anyway 7 they need to be revalved for your riding type...definately get them revalved. you won't be sorry.

That sounds like a plan. Jeff at the quad shop said they might not need to be revalved. They are compression adj. so i'll be able to adjust them a little with that.

On plus ones they'll prob be for a 200lb rider on +1's if they were on +2's at 175lbs. If they ride good for you now, f-it, don't waste your money.

Ya you should be alright ecspecially since you have compression adjustable on them. When Elka makes there shocks they dont valve them for an exact weight (same for any other shock company). It usually varies from 10-15 lbs.. For example.. 165-175 lbs.. ride em, and let us know what you think...

They got shipped out today so i should have them in a few days. I'll mount them up and see how they feel.
