Here's what the hood should look like installed. It takes a good eye and lots of patiance to get the hood mounted flush with the stock plastic.

This view underneath you can see that holes about 1.5 inches in diameter were cut in the front part of the plastic for the indintation of the mounting brackets to fit down in. This will allow the hood to lay flush on top of the stock plastic. The washers DO NOT come with the mounting hardware supplied by maier. You will have to purchase these from the hardware store.

In this pic you'll see that the headlight mold was removed and small square's were cut into the plastic for the top indintation mounts to fit perfectly so that it doesn't raise the hood up. Without cutting these spots out the hood will sit about 1/2 inch too high on the stock plastic.

The easiest way i found to secure the top part of the hood was with Tie wraps. Do not expect to do this mod in 30 minutes. You'll spend lots of time cutting away and fabricating the stock plastic to get a good fit. Hope this helps those that are looking to do this mod..:D

Nice details Rico:macho

Did you do the cutting with the fenders still mounted or with them off? I was thinking with the fenders off there is alot of flexing going on. With them mounted the fenders will be 'stiffer' and allow for more accurate cuts.

The fenders were off when i did it. I used a hack saw and a razor blade to do it. Only tools I had at the time..probably better things out there to use..:o

I know it sounds like BS but it took me about 2.5 hours to do that hood.. LMFAO

Hasn't that hood be on there for awhile? I knew you had a smoothy for awhile.
