Hey Guys,
I'm looking at maybe getting the MX Gibson Setup for my EX. Are they really worth it? Would I be better off getting the Elka's or the Axis. I've never ridden a set of Axis before and I'm not sure if they will sag like the Elkas.

Jeff, you've ridden both. So have some of you others. Give me your opinions. My mind is pretty made up on the Gibson Arms. Just help me out with the shocks. The Axis are an extra 300$ but I'm not sure if they will be best for me.

My knowledge of correct suspension setup is at best limited. What would be the easiest to setup? I'll also be looking at a rear rebuild to match the front shocks. If I get the Elkas I'll be haveing Santo do the rear to match them with his Pro Millenium and ZPs setup.

Go with the gibson and axis setup, you will not be let down. Also do a search under "gibson" , or my name "T-R-X." I have posted many pics of my 250r with the setup.
I had no troubles with my axis shocks and i beat the piss out of them.

I chose Elka over Axis. People go both ways, but I say Elka.;)

When comparing those two, you can't go wrong with either!

do other shocks sag like elkas? what makes elkas so speacial, ssd? any shock will lower your quad right? anyways what im trying to get at, is 895$worth it compared to 700 tcs or 750 pep's

axis and elka feel almost the same to me. remember that i dont jump big, but in the woods they feel almost equal. the elka gets better the faster you ride it...where the axis remains constant.

you wont go wrong with either. it may come down to how fast you want the shocks...elka is pretty speedy.

ummm....i left out pep. they are still one of my favorites and if i had to buy a new set of shocks right now they would be first in line:)

people say that pep is more of a motocross shock, is that true?

Pep can valve the shocks for whatever you want. I personally have ridden a fresh set of PEP's and a fresh Derisi modified Works shock and Liked the Works better. IMO

I'll probably go with Elka, the package price is cheaper.

hmmmm, If Santo has taken a works and outperformed a pep...why not call him for his opinion on shocks for your new Gibsons...

Hey BMW, I just felt more comfortable on my Derisi Works than the Pep Standards. Nothing against PEP.

Come to think of it, I may just call Santo and get his opinion.

I know Santo is good but if he can breathe on shocks and make them better, he's a suspension god. I will be buying as a package deal so when I get it all it will be from ECATV, they are the primary dealer for Gibson products.

I'll probably be looking into the rear linkage kit from elka after I get my front all settled out.

His prices are very reasonable, especially for the quality of work.

yeah I knew what you meant pappy, I was just making a play on the phrase myself. Santo does Wonderful Work, All of my rebuilds and revalves go to him.
