Im getting ZPS shocks shortly, and the rear is gunna have to be converted. Which one is the overall better deal. meaning quality, price, performance etc. Ive heard that the tcs rebuilds were better than the pep rebuilds but never heard any comparrison with elka.

The only real difference between the Elka and the TCS rear rebuild is that TCS anodizes the shock body. THat is the only difference they are both revalved and resprung. I do the Elka rebuilds here all the time:)

im not sure of this but im gonna ask this in your thread oh and ask you a question

are your pep shocks ZPS up front?

could you have front ZPS shocks and use the rear stock shock for a bit?

could you use rear ZPS shock and have no ZPS up front?

thoughs are my questions :)

I thought PEP anodized the rear shock too:confused:

I think the quality is about the same with all three, but the difference being as Colby said, the anodizing of the TCS/PEP!

Greg I ran Elka SSD shocks up front for a few months before I got my rear rebuild! I noticed no problems at all.

yep u can...i have zps fronts and normal pep rebuilt rear with no zps...i just have a lowering strut so it sits evenly and comfortably...
so the answer is yes....you can have zps in the front and not the rear...or the other way around..

tcs makes perty nice stuff ;)

...and so does elka, pep, etc.. basically go with which ever one you feel is best because they are all good shocks, and everyone could argue till their face turns blue about which is the best. ya can't go wrong with any of them, because they are all very good.

for a tcs dual rate zps conversion its somewhere around 375, and the wait is less than 1 month.

for a pep dual rate zps conversion its about 700, and the wait is well....who knows with them:o

The PEP rebuild is $450 or was? The $700 is just for the YFZ as far as I know. Go with Elka or DeRisi!

PEP Rear Rebuilds are about 450 bucks, usually only takes 3-4 weeks on a rebuild. The problem is if you try and get stuff during national season because wayne is gone more often than not and doesn't have much time to get work done.

I've been stressing on what to go with and I'm pretty sure I'm going with the Elka's.

Some times the PEP rebuilds are not long, but they always seem to take longer then they say. Now ordering new Shocks you better have some good patience if you get PEP.

derisi has the fastest turn around on rear shock rebuilds if you have a z get the rear zps to lower it if it's a ex it don't matter much i don't think
