i know about the 400 to 300 front end conversions, but what do you do to the rear to match? any cheap mods or swapping to beef up and widen the rear end? whats the poor mans hot setup?

for betters suspension, ppl opt for the raptor rear shock on the 300ex/250x. you need the non piggie back, the one with the rezzie. thats the poor mans suspension config. i thought about it myself to.

actually a raptor shock isn't a poor mans mod. I had a works shock and it was crap, i have heard the raptor is actually better.

For a cheap mod i think a 350x rear end will bolt up...

I have a Laeger swingarm, Raptor shock, Lonestar +4 axle, Lonestar bearing carrier and a lonestar locknut...i'd say it's beefed up:D

The 350X rear is a terrible mod. It makes the rear so stiff it hurts to ride it. It would be for flatrack racing and thats about it.

The best mod is to lengthen your stock swingarm about 2 inches. I can get them lengthened for about $125.00

A good shock is a good idea as well. Raptor rears are hard to find because only the first year raptor with the remote rez. works.

I am going to disagree with this one. I have the complete 350x rear end. I bought the complete rear end with shock and all new bearings in the swingarm for 120 bucks shipped. I know I got a good deal, but it is still a cheap swap. My setup seems to be soft enough for any riding, and is easily adjusted if needed.

This is just my $.02 so take it for what it's worth.

Here is a post to give you a good idea of what it takes.

If you can get one, go w/ the '01 Raptor rear shock. I had about $100 in mine (traded some speakers) and it's deff. worth it! :D

Thanks! maybe i can come across a Raptor shock one of these days, and i like the swingarm lengthing idea, i want to widen the rear..im guessing that i should stay away from the spacers that attach to the hub? but i dont know? im getting to old to do any crazy jumping..how do they hold up for trail riding..seems like they would just put more stress on the end of the axles?

The stock 350x axle is +2 compared to stock 250x or 300ex

is the legnth of the 350x swingarm differant also? $120.00 is a killer deal for all that. nice to know my options and what to look out for.

Hey I have some durablue spacers on my 300ex, their really nice and i havnt had any problems with them yet, same with my 2 friends with blasters

we ride really bad trails and hit jumps that usually bottom us out but the spacers are really nice
