I don't do it nearly as much as I once did before my computer was reformatted. The RIAA doesn't really scare me that much, u jus gotta know what your doing. Its okay to download a small amount, as long as your not downloading like 100's and 100's of songs a day, u should be okay.
Mom heard about it though, and she was like "I heard over 500 people got caught, and I don't want you to. I don't want you downloadin as much music as u usually do.." and I was like "duh...I coulda told u that. U can get fined like $1000 a song. I'll make a deal w/ ya...u usually buy me a 50 pack of cds every month and a half...make it a 10-15 pack every 2 months and a real music cd along w/ those, and I won't download as much as I do now". And she said its a deal:blah:

I still download, I never really went crazy on downloading! I may download 15-30 songs every 6 months. Just enough to make a CD. A CD last me a long time so!:D

Wow, thats so minimal to the amt I was downloading:huh Every night for like 2 weeks every month or so I would download 30-50 songs a night (while I was in bed). And then a few during the day. Some nights I would download a complete album, then the next morning burn it before I went to school:huh I don't bother no more. Just a few mix albums every few months & a few full albums (which I borrow from friends and copy on my drive then burn) every few months and then a mix or 2 for my brother and I'm good now.
Oh and a cd...it takes me a few weeks to get bored of it...:huh

I download music.

Just get Kazaa++ and just move your songs from "My Shared Folder" to another folder.

Are there any sharing sites that don't load a bunch of ad-ware? That's why I've been so hesitant!:(

Ya! Limewire is the best by far, I have used a whole bunch of P2P file sharing programs and nothing has given me results as good as Limewire. There's no stupid ad's and no spyware/adware involved either.

because if you just create a folder on your desktop, your not sharing w/ others what you have downloaded. I guess it helps to avoid being caught. My $.02 :)

Well basically, the RIAA was gaining access to your computer and looking at your files, all of the files that were potentially downloaded they kept note of, and if you had over a certain number they would fine you. So basically, if you take the music out of your "Shared File" they shouldn't be able to acess it.

Thats what I think he means at least
