Some people use oversize battery cables, I think ones from a street bike or something.

its hard to say i dont sell batteries...cuz thats what i do for a living:p

yes that part # is CYT12-ABS its a direct fit in the 400ex and cdale's and will offer more cranking power. you may need to order one from a local dealer as not many stock them

I also have Pappy's battery cables. A great add on for a little over $20!

There is no doubt I noticed an increase in starting power. I think you would notice an even bigger difference with these if you have the bigger battery, which is also something I would like to get!

I'm new to the 400EXs, so forgive me if this is incorrect...

But, I *believe* I read somewhere that the aftermarket ignition boxes require more juice to start, and if your battery is a little weak it may have problems starting?

The reason I ask is that we just purchased a 400 with an aftermarket ign. box and it seems with the cold weather, if we let is sit for a couple of days, it won't always hit. Granted, this is likely a battery problem, but it sounds to me like a better battery and cables should be a MUST if you're running a hot ignition...

im not sure on the rev box, but mine started no easier with the rev box and higher cca battery. rico has the gt thunder rev box and sez that it stops all the BS so maybe thats the route to take

i run a modified stock ignition w/the rev limiter taken out b/cause the aftermarket ones dont fire as good as stock. my battery is just old
