For a PRM full engine skid plate, is .190 def. nessasary? Or will .125 work fine? Will the .190 be noticably heavier? Thanks...

that really depends on the type of terrain you ride...if ur like a gncc rider or ride some rocky trails for for the .190 for sure...if u jus ride around the yard...occasional rocks but not many...125 will be fine for u

I ride a lot at Raush Creek, Tower City, Treverton PA and they are all rocky places... Not to mention that I will probably do GNCC in the future... I guess if .190 is really nessasary then I will get it...

Any other opinions?

The weight difference will be minimal for the added protection, more is better. (well most of the time anyway)

I made my own skidplate and its been holding up for about a year now. I raced a season of cross country with it, im pretty sure its .125. Its been holding up fine, the belly skid doesnt seem to take that many hard hits, mostly sliding over rocks. So i dont think the .190 is worth it. But if i had the money i would buy it.
