hey does anyone think that wisp will be as hard this year as it was its first year i was there both years and last year was a lot easier then the year before. they took out all the rill hard parts out for last year i think that they should have made it a little harder then what they did.
thanks

From what I hear they make the races a little easier to attract as many racer that they can not to many peaple want to ride a race were only a few pro's can make nawrly hill climbs & totally all huge rocks Ive raced some locall tough races & they take alot out of you & your bike..

I think you're right. I ran a lot of local Hare Scramble in 2003 and they were a lot harder than the gncc. What's weird though, is I did better at the locals than I did the nationals. :(

A few years ago I ran a sieres in cumberland called Cliffside that was one tough race 12 miles of rocks .The first year was the worst & toughest everybody in district 7 hated the race because it was so tuff so they made it a little easier each race but I liked the challenge of the seires i placed 1st & second in every race their for three years by just tuffing it out & keeping a steady pace.

Where is Whitemarsh? You said you raced near Cumberland. I live like 45 min. from Cumberland. I actually live like 10 miles from the old Blackwater 100.

I'm not for sure if they still race there or not but if I hear that they do, I will let you know. If you're interested, there are other races in this area. Check out this website....www.topendproductions.com

mt. storm is 40min. from me...

I watched all of the wisp races and I must say I was amazed by the hill climb on face, steepest slope

I never raced the Blackwater, but a lot of us still go where it was to ride.

The Wisp was a little better last year but still has way to many
Boulders to tear sidewalls out busted 3 Razor 2s, skid plate, 2wheels, bumper. I guess I should have ridden slower!

The open areas are way too open, but the rocks more than made up for it!

There were several DNFs, saw 1 guy finnish running on front rims only.

it would be an awsome race if they would get rid of some of the rocks and keep more of the race in the woods. I'm just glad to have a national that is close to home.
