hey, im getting new tires/rims for mx.

i was thinking itp mxr's on back w/ hipers and hole shot mxrs in the front w/ .190's till i can get hipers.

the people i have talked to said holeshot mxrs wear down to quick?is this true?

they said to go w/ razrs.....but they said the holeshots hook up better in the corners....?

but then there is the rear grooved tamers we have on our dale that are very good.

i just want some pro's and con's on what to buy.

I got Holeshot MX's up front and change out MXR's and Tamers in the back. I only run the MXR's in muddy conditions and Tamers when it dries off. These are all on ITP .190's and I have had good luck so far.

As many people as you ask you will get different answers. This combo has worked for me though.:)

Hiper rims, Kenda tires. I currently run MXR's on my YFZ, and they have worn down pretty fast, but I love the way they grip. Next tires I get are going to be Kendas.

my ride will have nothing but kendas on it as long as i have it. i could pull the hole shot on my stock motered 400 against ported 250's and modded 400 that were in classes higher then me just becouse i hook up better. i know yall probly think im lieing but im tring to be honest here. oh ya they were all running holeshot mxr's

Kendas are the best tire for all conditions period, hands down, end of story. The grooved radials and tamers went out in the 90's, sorry guys. ITP used to be the big kid on the block but From my experience with all the MX tires on the market, the kendas are the new big dogs. They give a new meaning to Hook up...

They also wear a lot less than the ITP's for dam sure..

Dude, if you're looking for .190's on the front of that Blaster I can help you out. I have a brand new set of 10x5 3+2 offset 4/156mm bolt pattern Douglas .190s for sale.

Personally I've not tried the Kendas, I love my MXR's though. They may wear fast to someone that rides everyday but I just race nationals and a few locals on off weekends and I've had mine on since about May and they are not even half worn yet. They don't last as long as the old MX's but the traction and corning these tires give you is awesome!

I've always been happy with Shredders. I tried holeshots, but they seemed to wear down pretty fast. I also like the douglas .190 wheels, but now I have ITP T9 Baja's (with the reinforcing ring) on the front and soon on the rear.

I run holeshot mx's, and before i got them last year, people were telling me they wear down to fast also...dont listen to them...i have ran 9 races with them, riden on roads and on my pratice tracks...and theres still about the same amount of tred left as when i purchased them...they are 18"s
