My start button has taken a crap on me, and doesn't always work. I am currently redesigning the electric for all the switches. I want to keep the start button on the handlebar at the clutch. I was told that you can use a yz kill switch. I found in my Rocky Mount catolog kill switches for yz, kx, rm, cr, etc.. Will any of these switches work, or do i have to use the yz. Actually, do the kill switches actually work as a start button ???

Here is a link for the Kill Switch

Thanks in advance !!!

Nobody knows anything on this.. I have everything I need except this item.

All I need to know is that you can use a kill switch for a start button.

If it's a two wire switch, you can use it as long as you connect to the correct wires. If it's a one wire switch, you cannot. It is simply a grounding switch. The link didn't work for me... Anyway, the contacts in the switch get corroded and dirty from time to time. It is easy to clean it up and get it to working good as new. I've even done it on the trails! Make sure your clutch/neutral safety switch is working okay (if you still have one), ours just went out and I had to replace it... I had a spare. :)

When you say "if it is 2 wires" are you refering to the kill switch or my existing wiring?
I like the looks of the cr switch, but have only heard the yz works.

Thats for your response....

yeah anything work. I have a RM one on my bike the CR one will work no problem. The two wire thing is on the switch not on the stock. just cut the two wires on your stock botton and connect them to the kill switch.

Excellent, thanks for the info. Sounds too easy to be true, but I will go with it.

Thanks everyone !!

Actually the one that works the best is the kx style. We sell it with instructions for $20:)
