I know for a fact You HAFTO be 16, inorder to even sign the papers....they will ask for proof of your age..this only applies for AMA tho...u might be able to get away with 15 in other associations

Dude....check the ama rules..they had some changes on age..I think they will let you run at 15 if your parents OK it. I know they lowered the age limits in the 90 class and the air cooled class.

Check at the end of Page 69 in the rule book.

I was at the congress when these rules were updated and changed.

You must be 16 to race your 416 in any ATVA or AMA event.
You can race the Blaster in the Youth Production 13-15yr old class.

On June 27th you will be able to race your 416 or any other quad you want.

Also anynoe that is under the age of 18 needs a parents signiture to race in any class.

As far as AMA\ATVA are concerend you can race in the youth class with your parents permision.

You need to be 16 years old AND (not OR) your parents permision to ride in any other class. Just becuse your parents say it is ok, it is still aginst the AMA rules to race a full size quad under the age of 16.

You can skim over the last part of page 69 and the first part of page 70 in the rule book and it should explane it to you. Chapter 11 in the rule book is all about ATV's

Just don't let the first part of the rule book throw you, it is mostly taking about bikes. The rules for ATV's are diffrent. In bikes you can ride a lot bigger motorcycle at a lot yonger age.

Also at outlaw tracks (not sanctioned by AMA\ATVA) they make up there own ruls and they may allow you to race a full size quad before you are 16. That is between them and thier insurance company.

Below is a list of all of the classes recognized by the AMA/ATVA, but alot of local tracks(that I know of) just offer open CC class A, B, and C. As you see the Youth classes have age limits to them and all others say 16 Yrs old or older.

ATV RULES
A. Recognized Classes for ATV Competition Events
1. For an ATV to eligible for the stock or production classes, the
machine must be approved by the AMA.
2. Any rider on an ATV who violates an age restriction in an AMA

being eligible to compete in any class.)

Yes that would qualify for the "91cc -200cc 2-stroke/91-300 cc 4-stroke production ATV (13-15 yrs)" Class

how come it doesnt say it there It does here: " The following rules and guidelines will be used to govern hare scramble riding in the WNYOA Hare Scramble Series for 2003 in addition to all AMA/ATVA rules." In the frsit paragraph.

And here: "AMA/WNYOA rules are that a rider must be a minimum of 16 years of age in order to participate on a Quad. Proof of age (driver’s permit/license, birth certificate) must be shown at the events registration area if questionable." Section E, rule 3.

They must not be offering a class for the mid sized quads for the 13, 14 and 15 years old. You'll have to talk to the permotor about what they offer...
