Picked mine up this afternoon. It was dark when I got home so the pics are in the garage still in the truck. I'm riding in the am so no sense in unloading anyway. When I called to check on it today, I was surprised to learn the HRC kit arrived with it and they installed it. It will easily make California noise levels. It is significantly quieter than my old 400ex with WB w/8 discs. It sounds awsome revved up and looks racey just sitting there. I have to admit, it does look a little unfinished. Not typical of Honda but the could have done more in the graphics dept. The plastic just looks kind of plain and generic. The missed an opportunity to put something on the tank. Like others have said, the black will look trashed soon. Anyone like the look of the black side panels on their EX after 6 months? Can't wait til tomorrow.:devil: $7755. OTD with the kit and install ( and free tie downs...whoeee) I couldn't figure out how to insert pics...maybe someone can help but it's definitely in my garage.

Oh yeah. The break down on the price was retail+tax, lic, doc, tire disposal, shipping(140.), 299 for the kit and 198 install. He said he didn't charge setup since I was so patient that last 3 months and I was the first to ante up a deposit.

Those pics were mine and it is VERY legit! :D :D I financed $8K and that included tax, theft insurance, and a full set of Sand Stars front and back mounted on wheels. Purchase date was 1/21/04. and the pics are floating around on the site already!:D :D :D

Not all that thrilled with it. Man I wish it had E-start. I've seen some long travel 440ex's lately for @ $4500. That sounds better than a $7200 quad that is screaming for at least $3500 in upgrades.

But hey, it's only money. they print millions of new dollars everyday.

No they are not. They'd only be making about $300. Someone has to pay tax if the vehicle is sold to an in state resident.

List the dealer, I will call them as an out of state customer. I bet they hit me with MSRP too.

Just got back from Honda of Oakland, CA and talked to the guy who just bought one. 6499 OTD. Best price I have seen in CA. Must say it is much nicer in person, and it does start easy.

My 14 year old son just got his R last nite....serial #4....CT...price to me with the HRC kit...$7645.00....$6499 plus 6% tax...$299 for the kit....and almost $500 for shipping and assembly...sounds like I should have bought it in Missouri!...oh well..now he has matching R's..he has a sweet tricked '86 also
