I know this may be a dumb question, but I would like to know what gaskets I would need when I do my rebuild. I plan to do the following:

1. bore/hone
2. piston install
3. cam install
4. port head
5. cam chain install
6. sparks key install
7. lightened flywheel

Which gaskets do I need to get? I want to get by as cheap as I can, but with high quality gaskets. Which brand and where from? Thanks.

I know that there is an OEM gasket kit A and B. Would I need one of these? Or should I just buy them separately? Anyone know?

mickey dunlap said that the cosmetic flexsteel gasket was the best head gasket. i have that in right now and it has worked just fine. you will need the left case cover gasket when replacing the timing key. depending on the piston size, you might need one of two sized head gaskets. you will also need a base gasket under the cylinder. i would call C&D racing. by the way, gaskets are really not all that cheap. good luck

Oh believe me. I know they aren't very cheap.:( Almost $13 for an OEM base gasket!:eek2: But, you gotta have them. I was just hoping that someone could point me in the direction to which exact gaskets I need to purchase and to where I should go. Thanks for helping me out. I appreciate it.
Also, stupid question, but with a 416, would I still be able to use a stock head gasket? Or would it be to large, and hang inside the cylinder? Thanks.

I've used cometic and they have worked just fine. Can't go wrong with OEM either. Just flip a coin..:blah:

Cool. I'll check with C&D for the gaskets. Would they be any cheaper than Service Honda?
