Hi, does anybody know if bar risers and extended steering stems produce the same higher body positioning effect? I have heard that when youre higher on the quad it gives you much more control in the air but doesnt let your corner as well as you used to. I want to race MX and do a little freestyle on the side so I would like to have better control of the quad in the air but would a small riser compromise my handling so much that it would affect my handling in MX races? Thanks in advance....

Um what I have to say about this is, just get a longer them or bar rise, its wat better. It really doesnt affect cornering at all and gives you awesome control. You feel liek your "the quad" more. I suggest you invest in thoes man.

I think im gonna go with the Rox pivoting riser with 2" of rise. Its all billet construction and pivots back and forth to move the bars closer or farther away. The best thing is that it costs about the same as a universal mounting kit for 1 1/8" bars. If Im about 5'7", and using a stock steering stem with CR High Bend bars and the 2 inch risers would the height of the bars still work fine for MX racing and FMX on the side? I just don't want to go too high. Thanks so much.

I think I may go with the Rox Risers....they look pretty trick and are bulletproof. Just go to http://www.roxspeedfx.com and click on ATV products. The 2" risers for oversized bars are only 70 bucks which is pretty cost effective when you look at the prices out there for universal mounting kits for fat bars. They also come in 3.5 inch and 5 inch rise options for standard or fat bars for the taller out there. You just gotta keep in mind whether your cables are going to be long enough. I think everything will be fine except for my stock front brake line which may or may not work.

I made my own risers in school its a inch and a half higher with this and it just look like a longer stem. works very goos too.

Yep, I think the risers are definitely going to be a good choice in terms of control and a more comfortable riding position. Im also going to run Tag SX bend T2s which are nice and low, and really wide bars which will give me much more control of the quad in general. Since im going with low bars mated to the 2 inch Rox Riser I dont think it will be too high at all. In case you were wondering, the Tommy Clowers FMX edition T2s are the same bend as the SX. Its similar to a CR High bend but a tiny bit higher and wider for better control.

With the adjustable risers, you can put the bars more forward or more toward you if you want. Its kinda cool because it tailors the riding position more to yourself so you are more comfortable. My stock stem is still in immaculate condition so im just going to replace it with an aftermarket stem when it bends.
