Here is a cheap mod to help people with a 300 Ex carrier bearing problem. Build your own twin row carrier out of stock one!
I did this on all of my quads.....
go down to an automotive parts store and order a set of G.M. or Chrysler air conditioner pump bearings, part # 907257. they are about $12 a piece!
Take your carrier to a machine shop and have them turn out 4MM on each side for bearing to seat and cut the center spacer tube down 8 mm, ant then slap it back together with stock seals.
The bearing # listed above will also replace the ones in aftermarket carriers for the 250 R's and should work in 400's also (I need to check the 400 to confirm) Hopes this help save you guys some dough!:cool:
