Are the steering stops bent or broken?

There could be a smaller steering stop welded on the shaft. It's a good thing as long as your tires/rims dont' hit the a-arms.

so your say'n that if they don't hit the a-arms, (and they don't) that it will no affect the steering performance of the quad???

I know when I put on my new Stem, the tie rods had to be adjusted...

It's OK to turn a little sharper.

And yes Dave400ex brought up a good point. You most defintily need to give your front end an alignment when you put on the new stem. I know I had to both times I replaced my stem. Give it a proper alignment and get back with us...

My burgard stem seems to turn a little sharper. No problem as long it is not hitting the tie rods as all the others have said.

Adjusting them up.
Make sure your two front wheels are pointing straight foward and then make sure your stem / bars are pointing straight. Then adjust up the tie rods. make sure you split the difference on the threads with the tie rod ends / ball joints on each side. I hope i was clear enough. At least that is how I did mine. Straight Bars / stem Straight wheels. Pretty straight foward
