my engine would not start so i went and checked the valves and they are very loose..the rocker or whatever you call it is loose on top...not the actual valve...the gap is supposed to be 4 thousands and i can feel that is a lot more than that...i just had the top end rebuilt so does that mean the guy did something wrong because i only ride the bike for an hour and it would not start after...is this the reason it will not start or is it something else.....any replies would be great
I'd say ya fouled a plug, that's the reason it won't start. And yes if the rockers will be a little loose when the piston is at TDC. .004 is too tite actually, they should be 005 and 006..

Is this on a 300? If so then .004 is correct

no it is a 400ex....but the valves seem to be moving a lot....like i can pick up the rocker like less than an 1/8 of an inch...there is a big gap

also when i check for spark....the spark moves around a lot and it is not in on place with a constant streem....and it is a new spark plug
