I'm trying to decide between the 2 beadlockers. What is the weight difference between the 2. The ring on the Hiper, is it carbon as well or is it some type of metal. In GNCC has there anybody that actually broke one of there wheels. Is there a website to view the hipers. I thought it was something like www.hiper-technologies .com, but that isn't coming up.

Thanks

Yes the ring is carbon fiber too.

I haven't personally seen a Hiper wheel break but I have seen countless alum beadlocks bent!

Are hipers lighter than most alum?

Your wallet will also be lighter when you buy hipers.. :D

Actually, If I had stupid loot I"d go with Hipers also, but I got 4 beadlocks for a little more than what 2 hipers cost. I had to go with the bargain deal. I'll have hipers one day I guess...:o

not lighter by much, but they are lighter......

I heard the colored rings were not CFiber and the black were....??

I saw one wheel break since they've been in use.. Its was after Borich's crash at WISP last year, and the wheel was slammed 65MPH into a pavement curb...the wheel broke, so did his wrist!!!
Smiley and Borich both have used those wheels practicing here in Pa. at Jack Frost and Rausch both are rock breeding grounds... not one problem from either racer.... never a problem at the races either... Rausch and WISP are wheel eating monsters!!!

Hipers are priced to compete with the prices of Douglas Ultimates and the ITP pro series. The cheaper wheels are just .190 with locks and reinforcing rings. You can't really compare the two. Its kind of like saying I'm gonna buy a 300ex cause its cheaper than a 400ex.

Geez, thanks for telling me:grr:

I use the burgards and they are great rims. I know Jeff mentioned that aluminum ones bend and what not. Well if he's raced for over 15 years and raced in A and Pro classes I"m sure the big boys have bent a few rims, some of the yo yo's probably had flats and ran it flat for miles with the hammer down. So, yeah flat tire, big rocks, 50 mph = bent rim. Probably = broke or chipped hiper.

Hiper is the better of the 2, but both will do the job just fine for us mere amatuers....:D

It's one of those deals where you buy one. Then after you get them you say damn I could have spent $160 more for something better.

Question though, do the Hipers have rings on the inside or is it a option. Either way I go this stuff is going to break my wallet lol...

The fronts are single and the rear you can get either way.

If I would of had the money, I would of gotten Hipers. But I ended up gettign Burgards, and I have not had a single problem out of them. But like Rico said..I personally ride no where near the level of Jeff and those guys..

Yeah that $3 plaque ain't worth ruining a $110 rim..:eek2:

I always go the cheaper route and bend a steering stem all to hell instead. They are only 52.00 a piece :D

Yeah, but you look gooooood doin it. hehe. I dont ride anywhere near the leve where i would actually know the diff. between burgs. or hipe's but i have this Illness. It's called upgradonities. Serious condition and the medication is very expensive and usually powdercoated or anodized.:D

I bought Hipers due to my lack of riding skills and the trees that tend to jump out in front of me:o :p And I found some used ones so it didn't hurt the wallet quite so much.:)

Anyway, I weighed on of the fronts, 10X5 4:1 offset and was 5# 4oz. I think, maybe 5# 8oz.

Hey, this is serious dude. no laughing matter. the worst thing is, i am probably getting a TRX450 and then the sysmptoms will re-occure. i just know it. oh the suffering.

yeah i know that sickness. i just put my hipers on today so i dotn know what to expect they were easy to mount razr 2 up front and kenda klaws on the rear. i had itp c series and hole shots and the fronts were about the same weight do to the razr 2 i believe and the hiper/kenda were lighter then the c-series/hole shot. i got the red rings and i looks real good with my black plastic and skin sticker kit. that sickness you talked about got me to put a deposit on a 450r i hope most of my chit on my 440 will bolt up to it..

I got the dual beadlock 9X9s and they are hands down the best rim I have ever bought. I will never go back to aluminum rims and flat spots. Once you try them, you know that they are the best your money can buy. With the dual beadlocks, mounting up two sets of 18X10-9 Holeshot MXRs only took me about a half hour in my BEDROOM mind you. Too easy if you ask me.

Quit hoping. The handlebars are about the only thing you can take from a 400ex and put on a trx450. A few frame builders have already done their homework on this and said it ain't happening..

Hey, the aftermarket people gotta make a living too, you know!?
NacsMXer: im with you on the Hipers i have them all around with razrII and they are the sh&t. feels very solid and good molding too. Very easy to mount too. even the front with single beadlock went ob very smooth using a compressor.
