I need to order some new 20" rears for my R, do you think those would be a better choice than the 6ply Maxxis Razr's I'm currently using? Thanks...

hey jeff, havent you always said the sidewalls seem too thin? not a big deal for you w/ the tireballs, but i was thinking about getting a set.

do they have any GNCC contingency?

I've got the 22" Knarlys and they do hook up like crazy, but compare to Holeshot XC's the sidewalls are definately thinner and flex more. Maybe it's not as bad on the 20's though since there isn't as much sidewall.

Sometimes its just better to sit back and listen to you guys go at eachother:p

Has anyone tried the Klaws yet? My old man put a set on his quad, and we havent had a chance to try em out, and 6" of snow isnt gonna let us get a true feel for em.

01-20-2004, 04:35 PM
I've run them front and back, but for MX only in 20F / 18R. I've run tamers and holeshots. They don't hold a candle to the klaws. They hook up like a mofo and handle great, good things to say from me about them. Once I get thru the 4 sets of ITP's i got layin around I'll probably buy some for XC...:D

I ran the Klaw's in the front and Knarly's in the rear. Jim White from Kenda told me the Knarly's are designed for mid and soft terrain and the Klaw's are designed for hard pack. I will run Knarly's in the rear at most of the races since we don't see to much hard pack in XC racing.
They worked very well, much better than I expected!

sweet thanks guys. We are having a hard time deciding what tires we wanna run. We have all 3 sittin here, ITP 03's, Razr 2s, and the Kendas. But we do not have the gnarlys, maybe ill have to invest in a set. I def. am not to thrilled about the holeshot 03 fronts AT ALL. I think ill run the reg. razr fronts b4 i run the new holeshots again! I did like the rear holeshot 03s though.

Thanks for that, i woulda thought it was the opposite, cause the XCR Klaws are a more aggressive looking tire as far as mud and snow go. Good thing u told us, or we woulda found out the hard way.

I ran Klaws front and rear all summer for MX and I like em.

It's good to hear that the Knarlys are also good, as I will be needing some 20 inchers soon I'm sure.
