TCS finaly got me my shocks and they dont fit.

They are going to rebuild them and i need this info for the conversion with +2 400ex a-arms on a 300ex.

Length from Eye to Eye?
The colapsed length?

I was reading and i think from eye to eye is suposed to be 14.75 inches?? Is this right? And how long is the collapsed length supposed to be?? (i believe the collapsed length is from metal to metal but im not sure)

If you have these custom shocks please reply asap..thanks

Jeff and Brad dont give me any chit for this...just leave helpfull info. or dont post!

These lenghts can be what ever you want them to be. The extended lenght will determine the ride height and the closed length will determine when you bottom out.

correct me if I am wrong someone.

Take your shocks off set your quad at the height you want it to be and measure.
Set your quad so that it is in the position that you want it to be bottomed out at and measure.

you cant just pick random numbers..at some point the ball joints will max out, measure the distance just before they fully bottom

I'm not sure about the collapsed lenght so I wont answer that one

I thought if you have the top mount relocator that you could run stock 400ex length?

Sorry, I took for granted he knew that they can only go so far.

he's not running stock 400 length, he's running something inbetween the 300 and the 400 length which is the numbers he is looking for now

Mine are 14.75" eye to eye. I'm not sure about the collapsed length. TCS should be able to work it out. If Works can do it I'm sure TCS will get it right. It sounds like they may have sent you 400ex stock length shocks. I believe 400ex shocks are around 15.5"-16". Not positive though.

Hope this helps. Good luck!:D

agreed!

but, for useful info, check the rule book closely, you may be able to run a BOLT ON relocater, i kow pro production rules say the frame cant be WELDED on to in crease travel, dosent mention bolt on mods

AAHHhhh, nothing like pushing the rules as far as possible. If you can get away with it I would, that extra travel will be nice to have in your style of racing.

stock and production rules for 14 - 15 year old class

14. For an ATV to be legal for the production or stock class, the stock frame and ATV engine cases from the original ATV manufacturer of that make and model must be used.

15. ATV OEM frames in the stock and production classes may have material added for strength. These changes shall noy affect frame or suspension geomentry.

in other words if you add the shock relocater to accomadate the 400ex shocks and arms, you can't race that class.

2 choices, jam some 400 shocks or other shocks ion 400ex arms

or get extended 300ex arms and shocks to mount

have TCS make them 14.75 inches long. This will ultimatly solve your problem ;)

yea...if no one has orderd from TCS i would reccomend it...i rode my friends 400ex with TCS shocks the other day and they are awesome! And the people there are really nice! They will fix anything they do wrong. They said as soon as they recieve the shocks it will take 2 days to rebuild them and then they will send them back...
