I may be buying a set of v-paddled sand tires for my 300ex in the near future. I don't know to weather to get 20's, 21's, or 22's in the rear? I don't want to change my stock gearing. I plan to buy some Douglas .190's and mount them on to my stock tires, then use the stock rims for the sand tires. I think the new ITP Sand Stars, and the Kenda Geckos would be alright, but any other suggestions are welcome.

Thanks

Don't put a big paddle on that thing you will just bog it down to much. I'd put some Sand Skate Is or Dune sliders on it. They have a smaller paddle so they won't rob to much power but will hook up well. I think Sand Stars would be to much. I haven't heard much good about the Geckos so if they don't hook to much they might be OK on it. I have seen more than once someone put to big of a paddle on and a same bike with stock tires will out climb it because the taller paddles just take to much power away from the smaller bikes.

OK, I might mount sand tires on plain .125's.

That's what I have my padles on;) We ride alot of the rooted trasils at the dunes and only one minor bend on the inside. Plus they are lighter which is a good thing for the sand.

get 20x10x10 haulers, but if you still are going to get V's go with the edges, .125 is fine for a 300ex, i have C-series, cuse they look cool

GBC sand sharks on .125 wheels would be awesome.

Don't get the geckos. I've got them and they're not a very good tire. They tend to dig alot and don't have much hook up. Maybe the sand sharks? They're like the sand stars and sand skates but the paddles are alot shorter.
