ITP is the Title sponsor for this rapidly growing west coast mx series. Also, I am proud to announce that ITP Tires is now an EXriders.com Sponsoring Company. I will be publicly announcing this in a separate post, so give ITP a warm welcome, and Thank them contributing to EXriders.com!

Also, Roy Bloodworth of BigKidracing.com again has come through for EXriders.com with some awesome photos and assisted race report. If anyone is interested in purchasing any of today’s race photos, please send me a PM.

ITP Race Report!

Today was the last chance for ATV racers to compete on the National Track before the GNC National on February 7th-8th. Because most of the top racers have already headed out to California to prepare the GNC race, the first moto of the Pro Class had to be separated into two classes to qualify and determine starting position for the Main.

Unfortunately, the highly anticipated Factory Riders Tim Farr & Doug Gust weren't in attendance today for the race, which was a surprise to me.

Main Event

Heading into the First Sweeping turn, #19 Jason Dunkelberger grabbed the Holeshot with his Team Mate #99 Patrick Brown almost side by side. Lost Creek Cycle must really know what they are doing when it comes to modify these YFZ450.

Glen Helen was awesome yesterday, we all had a great time. I had a couple problems in the first intermediate moto, and my chain came off, so I only got 2 laps in after i went back to the pits to put the chain on. But overall it was a good weekend, we had a great time watching all the races, and racing as well.

Nice pics, looked like a great race at a great track. BTW, does anyone know if glen helen allows quads to practice at their tracks? I live about an hour and a half away from it and want to go their sometime. I checked their site and emailed them, but I didn't recieve any info. Thanks for the help

The Quadcross was a good time. I was there racing for my first time ever and placed 4th overall in the Open Novice class......even after my incredibly bad start in the first Moto :p

#69 charging in the first heat. Midway through the race his gas cap fell off. Unblelivable, was that he was still passing people and eventually finished second in the first heat. Let this be a lesson to make sure your gas cap is tightened before the race. Race fuel burns really bad.

Well I was the first Moto up, and they did not have there 15 second marker board yet so I wasn't sure how the race was going to be started......A guy came up, and started saying something but I couldn't hear him. So I started to look around for a second, and then that same guy walked into the booth and flipped the gate switch, and everyone left........2-3 seconds later I realized we were racing so I took off.......THEN I caught up to the back of the group in that first giant corner and started to pass this guy on a banshee when we bumped front wheels, and nerfs, which caused me to spin out and high center on the dirt curbing they have to mark the track.......so I got to play catch up all over again. GREAT FIRST RACE.....:p

Merriman, as much as being slowed down or stalled at the start sucks, isn't it fun to chase people down and pass them one by one? It's fun running a pack down! :)

Glad you went and had a good time! Glen Helen is a great track!

I just happened to be out in Cal on bussiness even though I live in SC. So I went to the race. what a great track. I liked it when they forgot to put up the directional banners after the kids race and the guys actually got going the wrong direction on the track. Three of them climbed the hill that you are supposed to come down. It looked much steeper than the one they normally climb but all three made it up and over. Don't remember what class it was that did that.

Ellis had no competition. He was flat out hauling and making it look effortless.

SAND LUVR

that was very funny when they forgot to put up the banners.
