I'm looking at either a Z/KFX400 or yfz450 rear tires for my 300ex both dunlops. I want 20's but I don't want aftermarket tire like razor or kendas etc. I ride a lot in sand and grass, occasionally mud and come winter snow, and I'll be racing harescrambles come spring. I can get either pair of tires for the same price. Tell me what you think, thanks.

i used to have a ltz400 an the stockers worked great...I dont know about the 450's, never ridden one. They hooked up good and still were able to break loose

Those tires hook up very well, the only thing you may have problems with is getting flats.

I ride through some tough stuff with the ohtsu's I have now and I haven't gotten a flat yet. They just don't slide well with so much sidewall. I went with the 450's rear tires. Thanks for the help.

I didn't really want to spend the extra money but now it would be about the same price. Our polaris has dunlops that are 7 years old look like the day we bought it and have had no problems. I like dunlops and the pattern.

Some factory tires are more than aftermarket. Dunlop is one good example.

They are referred to as Dunflats in these parts. When I bought my Suzuki Vinson a month ago, it came with Dunflats. I had .3 (1/3) of a mile on the quad. I took off the Dunflats, threw them into the garbage, where they belong, and put some BearClaws on it.

We have a 97 polaris magnum 425. We've never had problems with the tires or anything else for people who don't like polaris. Bent one wheel and the tire went flat, pounded back out and holds air fine. Never had a problem with the tires.

Ohtsu's are the worst tires for getting flats. The sidewalls are really really thin. 1st day out with my new 400 back about a year ago I got a flat. I purchased the Kenda Knarly's which are holding up really good. Haven't had one problem with them. They have very good wear and are a very tough tire. The sidewalls are 3x's as thick than those p.o.s Ohtsu's. And also, the Ohtsu's are almost $25 more than the Knarly's. Like jeff said, factory tires are usually more than aftermarket.

I agree with Evan, the stocker tires are more expensive and you'll get a lot more wear out of the kendas, ITP's, maxxis, etc..... Why don't you wanna get aftermarket?
