it gives you more traction in about anything, but you might lose some power:rolleyes:

it will increase your contact patch.

if there is any traction available, the more surface area of tire exposed will be able to grab it.

just grab some carpenter screws(if you have enough lug) get 3/8ths if you have 3/8ths of lug, ect. those work pretty well.-darren

wouldnt you actually get more power from having deflated tires, the outter radius of the tire is somewhat decreased

If you want no slip all grip put snowmobile studs in the back tires and screws in the front, sharpen them babies up and you will not slip. just watch you dont get your foot caught in them:devil: :eek2:

Those are like 1.30 a piece. A box of 1000 studs is only 65 bills. I'll let you do the math ;)

I didn't take pics of it but last year I had 6 studs barely touch my leg and they cut the piss out of it through 3 layers of clothes. The picks would have ate my leg up and spit it out, reason one why I'll never get those babies.

On the deflated tire question, it's going to depened on if there is snow on the lake or if it's solid ice. Solid ice and you won't gain any help from anything but something in the tire, like above mentioned studs, picks, or screws.

If there is a good amount of snow on the ice deflating the tire will help you stay above the ice longer than normal.

Good luck and an FYI a box of 250 studs is only 20 bucks and a bag of about 5 zillion screws will only run you 5-10.

I put about 250 studs in my spare Maxxis All-Traks. The tires were great riding with Thursday today. Tires came completely off the rims though.
