I need a new exhaust core for my Big Gun. They run $45 from BG. But I found that a 2" exhaust pipe cut to size will fit perfect and its only $5. The only difference is the BG core is perforated (holes in it) while the other is solid. My question is. Must the silencer core be perforated or can it be solid? What's the difference if any besides the price?

The holes need to be in there to let the packing soak up the noise. It would be just like a strait pipe if you used pipe. When you get a new core spray some hi temp engine paint on it to help keep it from rusting.
