Where Do Exhaust Gaskets go?

I just freplaced my head pipe with an HMF and put it back on and it leaks. DO the exhaust gasket go inside the head or head pipe? simple ? im sure and I think they go in the head but just wont to make sure.. thanks:confused:

its basically a smash ring, u put it on before u put on the head pipe, its gonna fall out a couple of times so be patient, it goes around the exhaust hole on the head. then u put on ur head pipe.

will the old ones fall out when i take the header off or will i have to yank them out myself?

it should just fall of and if it doesnt then just pull it off, make sure it does come off though, if it goes into the head ur pretty much screwed.

The old ones won't fall out easily, they will be really smashed in there so you'll have to dig them out. Just don't damage the head!
