I got the scoop a couple of hours ago that Tim has had some problems with a couple of the new R's and Honda has delayed sending them to the dealers until they find out what has happened.

dont they have to be readily avaliable to the public before the first national before they can run production class the rest of the year???

I wish the end of the month would get here so we will know one way or the other. If they show then all of this has been really just rumors, but if there is suddenly another delay anouncement I think it means there must be a big problem. Glad I didn't plan on getting one this year...

To be AMA production class legal, there has to be 100 units available across all 6 AMA regions of the country. If Honda is supposedly to release the CRF 450 on the 28th, I can see no way that it will make it to dealers by then. That is unless they are already on trucks, and even then it is extremely questionable whether it will make it by the race which is only a week later. They would have to go through the distribution warehouses, more trucking, and on to dealers after that. If this rumor about another delay is true, Tim may have to ride an EX for the first race. He could do that and still finish well. After all, it's not really very different anyway, and he would get legal points with no threat of being protested.

We can only speculate on such personal matters, but knowing Tim, he can probably find some KY handy... Oh... Did you guys mean the engine?

Hmmmm...shouldn't the title of this thread say "Honda owners with weak stomachs may not want to look here".....? :D
