Well, I just installed a Sparks timing key, and I'm positive that I installed it right but now no matter what I do it won't start. I 've been gone for a while so it's been sitting around for about 3 weeks, and when I came back I noticed that the tube on the bottom of the air ox was fillid with fuel, how it got there I have no clue. I have also taken out the spark plug and noticed it was soaked in gas, so I cleand it, tried it out and it had spark. So I reintalled it, but that didn't fix the problem either. If anyone could help then I would be very very greatfull!!.

If the bike was tipped back on the grab bar and the fuel wasnt turned off, then that would explain the fuel in the air box. It would also suggest that the filter is saturated with gas. Try drying the filter.

do you have a timeing light? If so see if it is in time or not. Also it sounds like you might have a stuck float if the air box has gas in it. I haven't messed with the timeing keys before. Isn't it just a new key that is off set so the flywheel goes back on a few degrees different? Make sure you got all your pulser and source coil wires and stuff all hooked back up.

Thanks for your quick responses!! No, the bike wasn't tipped on the grab bar and the air filter is clean. I might have a stuck float, so ill try that.

Help, my bike still won't start. The floats not stuck put it's getting way to much fuel. The spark plug was full of fuel, but it's still getting spark does this still mean it's fouled? I cheked every thing air, fuel and spark and it's getting everything, but it doesn't even try and start. Please help I havn't riddin this thing for 2 months and I need to riding again!!!!! lol :(

I'm running 2-1/2 turns out on my air feul. Running a 165 main Keihin jet. and I have a 45 Pilot jet in. I don't know how you're fouling your plug with a stock pilot jet. I belive stock is a 38. I have the same set-up as you and I'm only at 1000feet. I think your quad isn't starting because of your jetting man...I would tell you what to do but I'm not sure how to jet at your elevation.:eek2:

Thanks 2001400ex, yeah it it might be my jeting, but the thing is it would start fine like 4 weeks ago and now it acts like it's dead. Does anyone on here know what my jeting should be like?

Are you guys having the Arctic chill that NJ is having? If so that's most likely why it isn't starting. If you need help with jetting and stuff I would PM cals400ex - he's a carb. genious:p

It may spark, but the spark might not be strong enough. Get a new spark plug before trying anything else.

Also, it will give the engine some time to dry out from being flooded.

Keep it simple. If it was starting and running fine with the jetting it has now, don't look at changing your jetting now. Get a new spark plug. Always start with the basics before going any further.
