What are some good bar mounted lights? I want some for my R. It will have race plastics and I want some lights incase I want to ride at night sometimes. I just want something that I can put on and take off easily. Thanks, Ant.

Here's a pic of Lazerstar lights, the mount replaces the stock bar clamp. It isn't hard to remove but not real hard either. I think Trail Tech has the same or very similar set up.

One flaw with this set up is the lights sit up too high, above the crossbar on the Renthals. The first time I flipped it with the lights mounted they snapped off. The lights still work but the mounting bolts snapped. They are special bolt that the wire runs through and cost around $18 each.

I had a guy weld me some 'custom' brackets that sit a bit lower until I get my master plan together;)

Thanks......Are they bright enough to use without the stock headlights?

They make the stock lights look like a night light:p

They are Halogen, one is a flood light and the other is a spot light. I think the wattage is 25w and 30w or somewhere near that. From what I understand the stock stator is nearly maxed out in the stock set up. Stock lights are 30w each so you can't run both at the same time.

I wired the Lazerstar lights into the stock switch so the low beam runs the Lazerstar lights and the high beam runs the stock lights.

Lazerstar's new are a little pricey, I bought these used for less than Trail techs are new;) Almost any aftermaket lights will be better than stock as long as they are near stock wattage.

I've had no problems with the trail techs on my 300ex, they're really bright to

I will prolly go with the trail techs because they arent as expensive. Im gonna have to get a new wiring harness for my R because the one I have has the light wiring removed. Thanks for the advice, Ant.

Hey muff so you like them, I really want to get rid of thet dorky headlight. You say they are brighter than the stock? They dont bounce aroud or is there a rubber mount incorporated in the mounting?

their noticably brighter than stock...plus with the two different bulbs one can shine right in front of the quad and the other can shine forward a ways

they dont bounce around anymore than anything else does on the quad, theres no rubber mounts but its not needed

For you that break your lazerstars off when your quad rolls over, they make a horizontal setup instead of vertical like all of the ones shown, unless for some reason they don't offer it for ex's, but my friend has the horizontal setup on his raptor and the lights set below the top of the bars!
