I dont like how that header pipe bows out like that... Why do they have a Sparks head pipe with a DG silencer?

I agree with ya on the bow of the pipe. I asked tim if it got in his way every so often, but he said "its never bothered me." Im more worried about making it go faster than looks. Looks are cool but, unless your fast you wont get looks.

The next time you watch a two wheel race look at Kevin Windhams head pipe it is the same way. I read an article on it but can't remember why they do it, something about it lets it breather better some how.

I know... tim was telling me why, but i wasnt listening to him why it is that they make it that long.

The downward bend in the header pipe affects the powerband during different ranges of the RPM, and it also lowers the center of gravity.

Length of the entire system enables you to tune the engine. Though I have never heard the entire story I do know that the Euro Moto guys have VERY long silencers by companies like Arrow and Akropovic. They stick out past the end of the seat by 3 or four inches. They race on long tracks compared to here in the states so high end hp must be a must.
Here in the states, TC runs those sawed off Supertrapps with stock headpipes and having ridden one I will say it was the torque-iest 440 I have ever been on. I would really like to hear one of the National engine builders explain it.

they gotta leave something on there for us to modify...lol..besides id like to stick some hyper whites on there from www.piaa.com since i herd that the dont dim when the rpms is lowered ,,,,how is that with no battery. it must be one hell of a watchmacallit.

Probably has a very strong stator w/ a solid regulator that has good capacitance on it to hold the charge up for dips in voltage.

yea that hood on that bike really set it off...i mean i tought it was a lil ugly and it grew on me....then i saw that quad tech hood...and i was like damnn that bytch is bad....id like to see if quad tech makes a hood that has a scoop on it...that will proally make it look alot better

will the TC shorty silencer fit on the LRD header or does it have to be stock and would LRD sell the header without a silencer i know that's a little off subject but i was wondering about that.

TCracin440ex

tc shorty only works on the stock header....and you have to cut 5 inches of your stock head pipe off to make it work

An old trick...

We usually take some crayon. Start a line from the end of the pipe where you put the silencer on and make it like 8" long.

Then, we'll warm up the quad....wherever the line stops melting is the exact spot we mount at. Then we just modify mount to fit.
