Does anyone have a clue about the real horsepower figure of the 450r?? I was looking at the title for my 400ex and it states that it has 34.2 horsepower. Exactly how much stronger is the 450r supposed to be??

on the title it is prob. stating horsepower at motor, not rear wheel horsepower. i think rear wheel horsepower was like 26 or 27.

Guys...

The 400EX has around 34HP or so at the crank, but only 27HP at the wheels.

The 450R apparently has 42HP at the crank, and will probably have around 34HP at the wheels.

Do you really lose 20% of your horsepower from the crank to the rear wheel? That seems awfully inefficient.

Thats the way it is though. THats why it is so important have everything properly greased and your chain in good condition. It could cost you 1 or 2 HP if you dont grease right and have the wrong tire inflation. i know all of europe is almost completely converted to calling HP watts and torque in Newton Meter.
